I have already submitted a deficit budget. Think I ll some day become Finance minister of India :P

In addition I have to buy groceries, go for movies, travel home etc. etc. Hooooooffff!!!! Very difficult......

Pazhassi Raja - Movie Review

Movies like this are not taken just for making money. So much efforts and pains. Such works should be applauded and they should become block buster. I am happy that Pazhassi Raja has become a hit. I am looking forward for its reception in other languages too.

Aadhavan - Movie Review

“A killer is trying to kill a magistrate for money”. K.S.Ravikumar’s masala and Surya’s recent consistency added to that fancy one liner is Aadhavan. I usually don’t write a conventional review. There are better reviews like that on net. Let me write just a 10 mark essay about the movie :) 1 mark for each point ;)

Death to funeral: Lesson on Diwali day

Oct 17’ 09, Deepavali. All my sisters had come to our house to celebrate. All of us were enjoying some TV show.

A call to my father’s mobile. My father said “Iyyo”. My father’s mother’s sister’s daughter expired. (Got the relationship? :P ). In simple, she is sister to my father and so ‘athai’ (aunt) to me. It was she who gave shelter to my grandmother

Stay away from good looking girls

(Just for fun! But take it serious :P)

Preamble:

· What is ‘good looking’ is a subjective issue which is beyond the scope of this chapter :P.

· Author has assumed that guys tend to move closer with good looking girls which may not be true in few cases.

· ‘Close’ need not be thought as something to do with physical proximity :P

· The entire article is written in men’s perspective. So I am sure more girls will read this ;)

· The word ‘attitude’ is used by author in a broader sense. Please don’t map it to something specific that your imagination coins.

· Read ‘ the author’ as ‘karthik’ wherever applicable :)

Chapter 1:

Imagine that a guy is moving closely with a girl who is looking good according to him (issue is serious if it is according to me :P). There are at least two problems in moving closely with a good looking girl

1. If the attitude of that good looking girl is very inspiring, then automatically they guy feels “How nice it will be if I marry her and have her as my life partner?”. There is nothing wrong in that thought and it is quite natural. But the road is not very smooth. First of all even you should appear good (in look and attitude) to her. Then comes the social structure which is not pro-love marriage. Nationality (Mind, I am studying in an International Institute :P), Religion. Caste….. the list goes on. Why to face these many problems? If you don’t have such restrictions, then you are a fortunate person (not many are fortunate enough). So (unfortunate) guys stay away from good looking girls with good attitude.

2. Now the other side of coin. In my limited experience, what I reckon is, 50% of good looking girls don’t have a good attitude (at least in men’s perspective). So if you find that the good looking girl has a bad attitude after moving closely with her, then whenever you see that girl, only her attitude comes up in your mind, NOT her face, smile, attire (or whatever you found as good looking :P ). Then what is the purpose of she being a good looking girl? ;) Her beauty is of no use to you ;) [Sight adikka mudiadhu machi]

So this is the verdict guys. Beware of good looking girls.

Just enjoy sighting them from distance :)

Pazhassi Raja - Music Review

1. Maathanga

Seems, It is a vanthana sloka usually performed in Kathakali. ‘Adithya Hrudayam’ from ‘Sindhu Bhairavi’ kind of song. Who else can sing it better than KJY?

2. Kunnathe

Beautiful melody sung by Chitra. Typical Malayalam melody. The way charanam ends (last 2 lines) and loop backs to pallavi is brilliant and something unique about IR songs.

3. Adhiyshash sandhya

This is a historic film produced with a mega budget. A King’s story. A freedom fighter’s story. This song exactly sets the mood. Who else can provide a grand and quality music like this other than Raaja? What an orchestration! Very interesting to hear the rhythm usage in this song. Majestic voice of Sreekumar in Charanam.

4. Ambum Kombum

Should be a celebration song praising the King. Good usage of charanam. Again, a very clear tune. Maestro’s voice fits in perfectly. Pallavi is too good.

5. Odathandil

Sangeetha’s voice is very sweet. Chandrashekar’s voice is very different (Huhoo. I found out. The same voice in Kaathirundhen thaniye from Raasamagan. Man, I love your voice!). The tune? Should I say? Isn’t it default? J Raaja at his best. Melodic tune. Beautiful interludes. It is nice to hear those music added between the lines of charanam.

6. Aalamadankala

There are chances for this song to be compared with ‘Azeem O Shaan’ from ‘Jodha Akbar’.

On the whole, this is a wonderful album and one of the best in 2009. I appreciate director’s decision to choose Ilayaraja for composing music of this film. Ilayaraja has given the best needed for film. The BGMs must be rocking. Waiting to watch the movie!
